Youth Group

The Youth Group is open to all youth in the community, grades 7-12. Regular meetings are held during the school year from September to June. Current information can be found on the NCC Youth Group Facebook Page (invite-only; please message for an invitation).

Recent activities have included: community service projects, Italian Dinner fundraiser, Holiday Coffee House, playing Capture the Flag and Foursquare, planning and running prayer and worship services, sponsoring needy children and families, bowling, hosting coffee hour, volunteering at a roast beef supper, cookouts and parties, an overnight church lock-in, and an annual mission trip. The group is always looking for new ideas too.

The members of the NCC Youth Group were kept
busy in New Bedford from early morning to late at night
with numerous city programs and projects.
The teens and their leaders again made a difference in the lives of those
they met and helped -
along with changing their own lives during the process.

Even during a week of tragedy in the Commonwealth,
the youth and their leaders were able to make an impact
on many levels and with many groups.

2012 Youth Group Mission Trip
New Bedford, MA - Pilgrim Church UCC!

During the 5-day trip, the youth group and adult leaders performed over 250 person-hours of service, including: 
  • Preparing and serving free breakfasts to those in need at Mercy Meals
  • Sorting clothing and cleaning donated items at GiftsToGive.
  • Helping at the Church Yard Sale and bringing items to New Bedford for donations
  • Thinning crops and planting at the YMCA Farm
  • Sweeping the streets and picking up trash
  • Manning Pilgrim Church's table at New Bedford Pride
  • Volunteering to light candles and walking at the Relay For Life
The Youth Group also had a lot of fun on the trip
  • Swimming at the beach
  • Taking a tour at the Whaling National Historical Park
  • Vising the Y
  • Attending the grand opening of a LGBT Youth Center (and meeting the mayor)
  • Making Dunkin Donuts runs
  • Sleeping in the choir loft
