About
25% of total NCC revenue comes from fundraising activities, such as
Roast Beef Suppers, Yard Sale, Harvest Fair, and the Christmas Fair. We
add special events on occasion like the Sean Garvey concert, golf
tournament, Sandy Alemian Evening and others.
In
April, we are planning and auction which is a significant
fundraiser that is only scheduled every two or three years. Discussions
have begun about another Texas Hold'Em poker night which was successful a
few years ago.
The
Board of Ministries is always open to hearing about ideas that you may
have for activities that are fun, bring people to learn about our
church, and can help raise a little money. If you know of projects that
have worked in other churchs or groups, please feel free to discuss them
with Rev. Patty or any member of the Board of Ministries.
We
have especially noticed that we have a "dry spell" between Christmas
and the first Roast Beef Supper in mid-March. This is a period of high
fuel bills, but no extra revenue from fundraising. It is also the
dreariest part of our New England winter. We would appreciate ideas for
planning our budget calendar for next year that might add something new
during January or February.
Got Ideas? Don't keep them under a bushel!
